Why this course

Open Badges 3.0 aligns badges with the W3C Verifiable Credentials model, which is the bridge to wallets. Technical staff need practice rather than slides. ICoBC already runs an Open Badges server with a sandbox, so delivery cost is low and the lab stays vendor-neutral.

What you will be able to do

  1. Issue an Open Badges 3.0 credential in a sandbox and inspect its structure.
  2. Explain how Open Badges 3.0 relates to the W3C Verifiable Credentials data model.
  3. Verify credentials, including status and expiry, with verification and conformance tools.
  4. Diagnose common interoperability errors.
